This week we’re sharing a set of concepts for a boutique spa project that explores three distinct design directions for both the lounge and bar areas. Each concept plays with materiality, light, and texture in its own way, evoking a different kind of calm.
Concept 1: Earth & Ease
The first look leans organic and grounded — warm woods, natural stone, and soft tonal layers. The lounge feels earthy yet elevated, with sculptural forms and muted neutrals that bring a sense of quiet luxury. In the bar area, curved details create a cocooning backdrop, with subtle metallic accents adding just the right amount of polish.
Concept 2: Shadowplay
This version turns up the contrast. Sleek finishes, darker hues, and graphic lines give the spaces an edge while still keeping things serene. The lounge mixes tactile materials with clean geometry, while the bar introduces a moodier palette — deep blues and reds and burnished brass surfaces that hint at an evening ritual.
Concept 3: Soft Focus
Our final concept brings in a lighter, more ethereal touch. Soft whites, airy neutrals, and gentle textures make the lounge feel sunlit and open. In the bar, the palette stays refined but fresh, with layered stone and glass elements that lend a subtle shimmer. It’s a direction that feels crisp, modern, and restorative all at once.
Even though these boards were part of early concept exploration, each captures a distinct vision for what a spa can be — from earthy retreat to sophisticated sanctuary. Which direction are you drawn to?
