Next up in our Three Rivers tour: the second floor. This round of schemes covers the bunk room and its adjacent stair hallway and guest bathroom. Tucked above the main living areas, these rooms build on palettes and textures we’ve already introduced downstairs, with a little extra personality layered in.

Bunk Room

The bunk room leans into a camp-meets-comfort vibe that feels spirited without tipping into theme-y. Warm woods, soft greens, and earthy neutrals set an easygoing tone, while layered patterns keep the room lively and kid-friendly. The result is a room that works just as well for sleepovers as it does for winding down after a long day outside.

Stair Hallway

Rather than treating the stair hall as a pass-through, this scheme gives it a moment of its own. Benjamin Moore’s Sonnet carries over from earlier spaces, helping the transition feel seamless while still adding warmth. A mix of sculptural lighting, subtle pattern, and thoughtful wall moments turns the climb into a visual pause — one that quietly connects the energy of the bunk room to the calmer guest spaces nearby.

Guest Bathroom

The guest bath is clean, grounded, and quietly confident. Light walls keep the space feeling open and fresh, while the chartreuse vanity tone adds contrast and a sense of permanence. Dark accents bring definition, and soft, tactile finishes warm things up so it never feels too stark. It’s a straightforward, welcoming space, designed to feel polished but relaxed.

Together, these second-floor spaces continue the story of the Three Rivers project: layered, thoughtful, and connected from room to room. Each scheme stands on its own, but the shared colors and materials create an easy rhythm throughout the home. More to come as we keep working our way through this California retreat!
