A primary bedroom should feel like an exhale, but calm doesn’t have to mean colorless. For our Sandy Springs project, we explored two ways to create a restful retreat with a punch of personality.
The first scheme takes the bolder route. A pink and rust kilim rug sets the palette, balanced by pale wood and a sage green daybed. Meanwhile the oversized chandelier adds a polished note and the sculptural furniture keeps the room from feeling too expected.
The second scheme turns down the volume without playing it safe. An olive upholstered bed anchors the room, with warm wood and rust velvet adding depth. A simple gridded rug brings a quieter pattern underfoot, while dark bronze lighting gives the softer elements a sharper edge.
One direction feels more eclectic and expressive. The other is warmer and more restrained. Both prove that a bedroom can feel restful without fading into the background. Which would you choose?
