Hey all, Kate Cabiltes here!
I recently came across the home tour of Sezane founder Morgane Sezalory on Coco Kelley and have been obsessed with her French abode ever since. So much so that I’ve sought out other features on her space including The Glitter Guide and Cup of Jo.
I love this creative’s brilliant use of jewel tone color, specifically using the material velvet – the unexpected palette of green and pink throughout is to die for. Not to mention her eye for composition and detail is super impressive.
This palette carries through the various rooms of her home. The dining room and living rooms are my personal favorites. I’ve also found inspiration in the work and Instagram feed of designer Cara Woodhouse. This Brooklyn-based talent has a colorful edgy style that plays a lot with shape and scale and she also sources a good bit of velvet.
I’ve since delved further into the world of velvet furniture, specifically in jewel tones and have found a plethora of fun options specifically of the art deco style. These pieces range in price but all inevitably create a statement.
Here are some of my favorite pieces of velvet furniture and decor that I’ve sourced recently…
