We’re wrapping up our Three Rivers moodboard series with the final stop on the tour: the basement bedroom and bath. Since this home functions as both a vacation retreat for our clients and a short-term rental, these spaces needed to appeal to a rotating cast of guests while still feeling rooted in their surroundings. The design leans into comfort and clarity, with materials, colors, and textures that quietly echo the landscape outside. It’s easy to enjoy, easy to live with, and easy to remember once you’ve left.
Basement Bedroom
The bedroom strikes a balance between laid-back and intentional, designed to work for both quick stays and longer retreats. A soft white wall color keeps the room light and approachable, while deeper greens, dark accents, and warm wood tones add contrast and structure. We’re reusing the client’s existing desk and chair, with the chair reimagined in a playful Americana-inspired fabric. It adds a hit of character without overpowering the room, reinforcing the idea that this is a place to settle in.
Basement Bath
For continuity we’ve continued the same wall color as the bedroom, with the vanity repainted black for a strong visual anchor. Warm metal finishes and clay-toned accents soften the contrast, and clean-lined lighting keeps everything feeling thoughtful.
Our Three Rivers project is well on its way to being completed! We can’t wait to share the final product — stay tuned!
