Blending Styles in a Modern Atlanta Entryway
Atelier Davis is thrilled to share a look behind the scenes of our latest residential project in Atlanta. Our clients, a young couple, came to us with a common design challenge: how to blend two differing interior design styles into one cohesive, welcoming home.
Setting the Scene: The Entryway Design
We believe a home’s story starts where the home begins—at the entry. For this foyer, the goal was clear. Our clients wanted a space that felt distinct from the adjoining dining room and library. Most importantly, they requested a formal “non-drop zone”—a foyer that prioritizes aesthetic and atmosphere over utility. Here were some of our initial inspiration images–
Initial Design Development & Schemes
Following our initial design development meeting, we curated two distinct schematic design boards to help bridge our clients’ tastes. Both schemes utilize bright white walls and metallic accents to create a sense of height and light, but they offer different “moods”:
1. Scheme 1: Dark & Moody. This option leans into sophisticated depth and rich textures.
2. Scheme 2: Vibrant & Art-Forward. This scheme focuses on colorful contemporary art and a statement rug to ground the space.
The Entryway Essentials
Regardless of the direction, the “must-haves” for this foyer transformation remained straightforward but impactful:
1. Statement Lighting: To define the volume of the space.
2. A Focal Console Table: Paired with a large-scale wall element.
3. A Luxury Entry Rug: To add warmth and delineate the floor plan.
This Atlanta project spans many rooms, and we can’t wait to show you how the rest of this home evolves. Stay tuned for more design updates from the Atelier Davis team!
