We’re back and almost finished revealing the first-round design schemes for our new Atlanta residential project! This Moodboard Monday is short, sweet, and packed with small-bathroom inspiration.

The primary request from our clients? A bold, repetitive wallpaper to give this tiny space a massive personality.

When designing a powder room with bold wallpaper, we always recommend painting the trim a major ground color pulled directly from the pattern. It grounds the room and makes the design feel entirely custom. Beyond the walls, updating a small bathroom often just requires a few key swaps: a new mirror, a modern faucet, and a statement vanity light fixture.

Here are the two distinct design directions we created for this Atlanta home.

Scheme 1: Marbled Elegance & Cool Chrome

Clockwise from Top Left: Stone Plume Wallpaper by Rule of Three Studio, Dimpled Wall Sconce by RBW from 2Modern, Rounded Rectangle Mirror from Rejuvenation, Orrs Faucet by Proflo, & Dark Harbor Trim Paint by Benjamin Moore.

Our first scheme centers around a stunning tan and teal marbled wallpaper. We love this organic, flowing pattern so much that we’ve previously used it in custom fabrics for pillows on other projects!

To balance the movement in the wallpaper, we selected:

  • Fixtures: Sleek, polished chrome for a clean look.
  • Lighting: A series of fun, warm, dimpled vanity lights that cast a soft glow.

Scheme 2: Regency Charm & Bold Burgundy

Clockwise from Top Left: Icons Wallpaper from Voutsa, Orbel Vanity Light by Visual Comfort, Vintage Hollywood Regency Mirror, Purist Faucet by Kohler from Build.com, & Cottage Red Paint by Benjamin Moore.

The second scheme leans into rich contrast with a vibrant, colorful wallpaper paired with warm, brassy fixtures. Instead of a neutral trim, we opted for a burgundy painted trim to add an unexpected, sophisticated splash of color.

To complete the look, we mixed design eras:

  • The Mirror: An ornate, Regency-style mirror.
  • The Accents: A modern light fixture and faucet, creating a perfect transitional balance between old and new.

Which Powder Room Style is Your Favorite?

Whether you love the cool, organic vibes of Scheme 1 or the rich, dramatic contrast of Scheme 2, a powder room is the perfect place to take big design risks.
