Animal decor is versatile and can be found in various mediums ranging from prints, patterns, chairs, tables, area rugs and hardware. Incorporating a piece into your space is a great way to show your personal affection or connection towards one species and helps bring levity to your environment. The history behind animal decor is interesting, to say the least. Early animal appearances started in Zoomorphism and Animal Style found throughout Northern Europe and China. More recently during the 1860s-1890s artisans, specifically George F. Butt, in an effort to make taxidermy less mournful and more on-trend, formed the animals into furniture. Read more here.
