Atelier Davis is cooking up something new in the Virginia-Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta! This project has us dreaming up designs for not just one but two of the home’s busiest spaces: the kitchen and the scullery. Traditionally, a scullery was a tucked-away workspace for washing up and food prep, separate from the main kitchen. Today, it’s making a comeback as a stylish support space—perfect for stashing mess and maximizing function while keeping the kitchen at the center of the action.
In the kitchen concept below, custom cabinetry establishes a clean, modern foundation. Light finishes keep the room feeling open and airy, while subtle detailing adds depth and character. Paired with warm metallic accents and layered lighting, the design balances everyday practicality with a timeless, welcoming feel.
The scullery offers a moodier counterpoint. Here, darker finishes ground the space, giving it a sense of intimacy and purpose. Built-in storage maximizes functionality, while refined fixtures and lighting choices ensure the room feels as considered as the main kitchen. It’s a hardworking backdrop designed to support the rhythm of daily life without sacrificing style.
Together, these concepts show how thoughtful cabinetry, finishes, and lighting can shape the heart of a home—making even the most utilitarian spaces feel intentional and elevated. We can’t wait to see them take form!
