Two Schemes with Big Impact: Designing a Moody & Colorful Atlanta Dining Room

Are you ready for the next reveal of our new Atlanta residential project? Last week, we introduced this gorgeous home by showcasing the entryway design progress. Today, we are walking just off the entry to reveal our first round of formal dining room design schemes.

Because this space is the first thing guests see, it truly sets the design tone for the rest of the home. Our clients love to host dinner parties and asked for a space that feels youthful, colorful, and moody, with comfortable seating for at least eight people.

To break up the rigid lines of the square room, we want a striking oval or round dining table as our centerpiece. Since this is a formal space, the clients gave us the green light on plush rugs and performance-fabric upholstered dining chairs—perfect for long, elegant dinner parties without the worry of stains.

Here is a look at the two vibrant design directions we created:

Scheme 1: Bright, Feminine, and Painterly

The first scheme leans a bit brighter and more feminine, utilizing a vibrant, painterly-patterned wallpaper that delivers a massive visual impact the moment you cross the threshold. Airy drapery softens the windows, while a sparkly metallic chandelier adds a touch of formal glamour overhead.

Scheme 2: Darker, Saturated, and Tonal

The second option takes a deeper dive into a moody aesthetic. It is slightly darker and beautifully tonal, heavy on saturated blues and greens. Like the first scheme, it features high-impact wallpaper and a show-stopping metallic chandelier, but with a richer, more enveloping color palette.

Stay tuned for more as we work our way around the house design!
