Team Atelier Davis is wrapping up our Greenwich Village project with one final space: the study. It’s a room with great bones — an antique writing desk, a beloved rug, and a pair of ottomans we’re recovering to give them a fresh new life. From there, we built two slightly different schemes that each bring their own personality while staying rooted in the home’s overall style.
Option A: Tailored + Timeless
This scheme leans into traditional touches with a modern edge. The ottomans get a classic menswear-inspired update in a ruby and navy plaid, while a celadon velvet sleeper sofa brings softness and color contrast. A sculptural brass chandelier adds a bit of polish, and we brought in rich blues and deep bronze finishes for a look that feels refined without being too formal.

Option B: Warm + Collected
This version keeps the structure but dials up the warmth. We kept the sleeper sofa, this time in peacock blue, but warmed things up with apricot velvet on the ottomans and a colorful cushion in a geometric yellow Monk’s Belt pattern. The rattan floor lamp adds an earthy texture that echoes the existing antique trunk and desk without going full boho.

Both options are built on the same foundation: existing pieces the client loves, Benjamin Moore’s Muslin on the walls, and thoughtfully layered lighting. It’s all about giving this room a fresh identity while keeping it flexible for whatever purpose it ends up serving.
We’re excited to see which direction our client chooses — and even more excited to see this space come to life!
