Designing a great room means creating a space that feels equally inviting and functional. This week we’re sharing two interior design schemes for our client’s Atlanta area home, each showcasing a different mood for their great room. At the heart of both designs is our client’s existing sofa, which we’ve proposed recovering in two different fabrics to set the tone for each scheme. Check them out below!
In the first scheme, the sofa is reimagined in an off-white fabric to create a neutral base. Rust-colored drapery and accent chairs bring a pop of warm energy, while sculptural black lighting and sleek accessories add a polished, contemporary edge. Warm wood tones and patterned textiles layer in a cozy and inviting feel. This look is all about clean lines, balanced contrast, and timeless sophistication.
In the second great room scheme, we flipped the color palette and the sofa takes on a bold new look in a rust-colored fabric. Warm beige drapery and accent chairs provide a fresh contrast, while a checkerboard rug and playful prints bring a sense of whimsy and texture. With its vibrant tones and mix of traditional and modern details, this scheme feels rich, warm, and effortlessly charming.
The inverse relationship between these two schemes offers our client two different atmospheres for their great room while maintaining the same thoughtful design language. We can’t wait to see which direction they choose and to bring one of these concepts to life!
