Client Project Completed – Part 3

Last week and earlier this week I showed you all a recent living and dining roomrenovation I completed. Well the final part of the project was my client's daughters room. Her daughter transitioned from being a kid to "tweendom" recently and she wanted a room that was more mature and that would also grow with her into her teens. The room itself isn't large, but we needed space for the bed,... Read more

Design Blueprint: Subtle Slumber

When it comes to styling your bedroom, feeling relaxed is the most important design goal. But you will never feel calm and relaxed unless you feel connected to the style of the room. After thinking about the design of the rest of your home so that you can incorporate some of the same design elements, then ask yourself a few questions.... What colors make you feel the most relaxed? Is it pale gray... Read more

Client Project Completed – Part 2

Last week I showed you the living roomfor a client project that I completed toward the end of last year. Well today I'd like to share the dining room with you. The dining room was not a complete overhaul. Really we just replaced the furniture. My client liked her drapes, wall color, rug and chandelier so the challenge was to keep these items but make the room tie into the simpler more up-to-date... Read more

Client Project Completed

A while back I blogged about a residential projectthat I was working on locally in Short Hills. Well, the project is finally complete and photographed (it was complete a while ago but getting around to photographing it was another thing). I redesigned my client's living room and did a small revamp on the dining room as well as overhauling her teen daughter's bedroom. Here is a reminder of what her... Read more

Design Blueprint: Kitchen Contrast

Cori is back with her second Design Blueprint.  I love love love this kitchen. Thanks for sharing Cori:The home would be nothing without the kitchen! It is possibly one of the most important spaces in any home. Yet, when it comes to style, it's often overlooked and designed more so for function. There is a way to achieve both, style and function in every room of your home, including the kitchen.... In the press lately…

Sorry for the blog silence. Things (as usual these days) have been crazy. I'm excited to share some new things with you in the coming weeks though.  Yesterday, we photographed a residential project that I completely some months ago and today the baby's room drapes went up - amazing how much higher the ceilings look.  Pablo Enriquez, who photographed our house tour for Apartment Therapyand did my... Stylin’ Mamma: Transitions, Transitions

I recently became a fan of the designer Heidi Merrick.  There is something unfussy about her designs that appeals to me, a certain California-cool.  Even her leather pants (vegan, of course) are designed with a little more room to move...these are clothes to live in. February and March are such transitional months for me, fashion-wise. I'm totally over winter at this point, but it drags on with... Read more

Stylin’ Mamma: When Life Gives You Lemons

I cannot count how many times since having children I have stubbed a toe, stepped on a Lego, slid on a matchbox car, banged my shin on a coffee table...the list goes on and on.Two weeks ago I went to check on the sleeping babes and, as I leaned over LittleMan, caught my toe on the leg of his bed. There was a snap, my vision tunneled, that all-too-familiar shock nausea rose up, and I knew that... Read more

Progress around the house

I posted about the baby's room a few days ago and showed you the concept board that I'd created. Well, I took the plunge and ordered the rug and it's here. It's great.  There were so many photos from different angles and zoomed in close on the Esale Rugs site that I knew exactly what I was getting. It's soft underfoot and I think will be very versatile in the future. Here's a little instagram pic.... Read more
