Atelier Davis is kicking off a new project, and that means moodboarding! Before we start selecting specific furniture and finishes, we like to zoom out and set the overall tone by determining how the rooms should look and feel with concept boards. For this Greenwich Village apartment, tucked into a beautiful prewar building, we’re going for a look that’s sophisticated but completely livable. To bring this vision to life, we’ve crafted two concept boards — one for the kitchen and one for the dining banquette — laying the groundwork for a home that’s both stylish and seamless.
Kitchen Concept: A Classic and Contemporary Blend
For this kitchen, we’re aiming for a refined yet unfussy palette that includes warm woods, honed stone, and sleek but subtle details. Here’s what we’re focusing on:
- Custom millwork with soft detailing
- A curtain that divides the kitchen and dining banquette, creating a sense of separation while keeping things visually connected

Dining Banquette: A Cozy and Collected Feel
Right next to the kitchen, the dining banquette is designed to be the ultimate “stay awhile” spot — the vision here is all about layers and comfort:
- Plush, textured upholstery
- Lighting that creates an inviting glow

Ultimately our goal is to create a kitchen and dining area that feel effortlessly stylish and functional, with enough classical bones to remain timeless — never feeling too trendy or tied to a particular moment in design. From here, we’ll refine, layer, and bring this vision to life. So stay tuned, we can’t wait to share more from this project!
