Atelier Davis is working on a new project in Dublin, Georgia—a full rebuild of a historic country house that blends the character of its past with a more modern vision for the future.

For the first phase, we pulled together a series of concept boards that begin to shape the story of the home. The guiding idea is to celebrate the original structure’s beams and materials while layering in lighter, more contemporary moments where the new additions take over. The result is a palette that mixes woodsy textures, clean lines, and a sense of lived-in comfort.

We’re exploring ways to connect spaces without closing them off. Open stairs with a mix of metal and wood, along with framed transitions that nod to the home’s history, provide continuity while keeping the interiors airy and flowing.

The kitchen will be a central gathering spot, so concepts balance rustic and modern: natural wood, stone, and beams paired with streamlined cabinetry and simple, sculptural lighting. It’s designed to be both hardworking and inviting.

Built-ins are envisioned as architectural elements rather than add-ons—bookcases and cabinetry that look like they belong to the house itself, ready to showcase collected pieces and everyday essentials.

Built-in Concepts

Bathroom concepts bring together tactile finishes—stone, wood, textured tile—with a clean, modern sensibility. These combinations carry the home’s theme of honoring tradition while embracing fresh design ideas.

This project is still in its early stages, but these concept boards are helping to ground the design and bring cohesion to our ideas. We’re excited to keep refining the look and can’t wait to share more as the vision unfolds.
