Welcome back to #moodboardmonday, where we dive into the world of design inspiration! This week we’re thrilled to share a sneak peek of our moodboards for the 2024 Real Simple Home, which will be the autumn transformation a four-story historic 1890’s brownstone in Brooklyn, New York and will be the sole focus of the Real Simple October issue. Being tapped to create a den and kids room for this year’s show house, using only retail interior design products and furnishings, has ignited our creativity, and we can’t wait to see our designs come to life!
Starting with the den, we’ve crafted a cozy retreat that blends comfort and refinement. Here, a sofa with sumptuously tufted cushioning is complemented by a floral rug and smoked glass coffee table. The ottoman and throw pillows provide pops of green that tie everything together seamlessly, and brown wall paint with scalloped wallpaper trim serves as the background for an expansive gallery wall.
Venturing into the kids’ room, a sky blue bed nook echoes the den’s scalloped design elements. Adorned with whimsical wallpaper, the room comes alive with mythical creatures and astral motifs. For the finishing touch, a fringed ottoman and citrine sconces inject a burst of yellow against bold blue walls and create a vibrant yet harmonious ambiance.
These moodboards represent the beginning of an exciting journey, and we can’t wait to see these concepts evolve into reality. Stay tuned as we bring our vision to life at the Real Simple Home!
