We’re kicking off a fun new project in Decatur, Georgia, and the living room is getting the spotlight first. Our client has a few beloved pieces that will stay—a sofa we’ll be reupholstering and a coffee table with good bones—and we’re building around them with fresh layers of color, pattern, and texture. A custom built-in will also anchor the space, giving their impressive collection of books and records a proper home. From there, we’re exploring two different directions that both lean modern eclectic, but with very different vibes.
The first moodboard goes bold with a sunny yellow arch and hints of raspberry and teal, grounded by a warm but neutral wall color. A graphic rug and sculptural seating add energy, while sheer linen window treatments keep things light and airy.
The other moodboard takes a cooler turn, with the arch in a fresh sky blue. jewel-toned upholstery, chartreuse lighting, and a rosy rug bring richness and depth, balancing the more serene palette with eclectic edge.
In both directions, the built-in will ground the space while letting the playful mix of color and texture shine, creating a living room that feels vibrant, personal, and uniquely our client’s. Which one do you like more?
