We’re back at our lake house — this time with two takes on the kitchen and bar. Like the rest of this Pennsylvania getaway, these spaces need to walk the line between relaxed and refined. We kept the layout consistent across both schemes, but used finish and fixture shifts to explore two distinct vibes.
Scheme A: Fresh and Polished
This scheme keeps things bright, but not basic. The terrazzo floor tile sets the tone, with soft blue and brass accents giving the space a refined but easygoing vibe. The range brings a splash of personality, while warm ash cladding wraps the walls and ceiling for a natural, cohesive feel. We brought in sculptural lighting — including minimalist pendants over the bar and a set of globe chandeliers above — to keep the space feeling crisp and contemporary.

Scheme B: Bold and Sculptural
If Scheme A is soft-spoken, this one makes a statement. A deep green stove sets a striking tone, paired with warm wood cladding and mixed stone surfaces for a moodier, more tactile experience. Black fixtures ground the palette, and the lighting goes more graphic with adjustable red spotlights for extra personality.

These schemes show just how much range you can get with a consistent layout and material family. Whether you’re team airy-and-bright or bold-and-moody, both versions offer texture, contrast, and plenty of personality — just what we like to see in the kitchen.
Catch you next Monday for more from the boathouse!
