We shared the big-picture concepts for our Pennsylvania boathouse a few weeks back, and now it’s time to zoom in! This week, we’re kicking off the scheme reveals with the entry — because a house built for lake days deserves a strong opening act.
Our first scheme leans into bold texture and materiality. Warm ash wood wraps the ceiling, giving the entry an immediate sense of place. Underfoot, terrazzo adds a dose of pattern and durability. A sleek bronze flush mount brings sculptural lighting overhead, while a clean-lined bench keeps the entry practical. But the standout here is a decorative wood screen inspired by breezy latticework. It adds separation from the main living space without closing things off, making this hardworking zone feel intentional, not like an afterthought.

The second scheme keeps the same footprint but softens the mood. Here, the palette shifts lighter, with parchment-toned wall paneling adding subtle dimension and playing off the warm wood ceiling paneling. A tiled floor brings in a hit of geometry, and a streamlined console offers just enough surface for keys, bags, or an end-of-day cocktail. The wood screen returns in a more refined form, doubling down on texture while offering privacy and flow between zones. Like the first scheme it’s all about flexible function, but with a quieter presence.

Both options blend utility with warm, layered materials, designed to welcome sandy feet and sun-soaked guests without skipping a beat. Stay tuned — we’ve got more boathouse moments coming your way!
